sounds like it might be a good reason to buy a Snax in the near future. I really hope Ultras and Standards drop in price, I definitely want one. Ultimate recording solution for me, since cranking amps in apartments is not cool bro, not cool.

I really wonder if they are going to release a whole new unit though, or just do a floor model. Because if they just made like, a floor FX processor, I'd probably buy that over an M9.

Floor unit or cheaper unit is my guess

I don't see them coming out with anything other than a bigger, more badass AxeFX.
:idk:

That is, if the announcement will be pertaining to just one new product, versus a new line or what have you.

Man, they're making this thing sounds like it's going to be fucking insane.
And I don't think it's product hype...

The only thing that could be better about the axe fx is the screen. It could look better but, now, Im not even looking at it at all since I control everything from my computer.

As far as I can tell, the :snax: is the real deal, in tone, feel and response. (Never mind as an effects unit!) I've played it and get to hear it on a regular basis. While I haven't delved into the accuracy of its modeling it's a great preamp and effects box and emphatically does not suck.

I've always thought it was more than worthy of what it was trying to achieve/claiming.

"OH YEAH, WELL IT CAN'T TOP MY VINTAGE JMP!"

Uh yeah, we know, cocksucker.
But your fucking JMP can't sound like anything other than a JMP whereas the Axe is just this fucking abyssal Swiss Army knife of righteous tone.

It's the best sounding Dual Rec I've ever heard in person- albeit through a 2:90, but to be fair I've heard a few righteous sounding Dual Recs. I would take it over an RM100. And my friend with the :snax: has an RM100. (And one of the best sounding Recs I've ever heard (he owned the one I wanted when I bought my Mark IV), a Triaxis, an ENGL and a JVM. And some random shit.)

It also does the mid-gain stuff convincingly, which I'm not used to from modelingbits. I get to hear top-shelf shit all the time, and this holds up.

The mid-gain tones would definitely be most scrutinized.
I mean, I am sure it can do cleans and high-gain all day (SS/Digital has never had a problem with clean, and at a certain point of distortion it doesn't matter quite as much as people might want to think) but mid and low-gain tones..
That's where it gets a little tricky.

But as you've stated from experience and what I've heard from clips, that thing is pretty much The Shit.
:idk:

As Geoff has said before, I would love to hear someone try to cop the Pierced From Within tone.
There's a VH-140 sim on there, right?

this interests me. I've not played thru a :snax: but clips, of course are incredible. In my position in a cover band or two seems like a perfect fit.

 Seriously, while I don't think there is, you could make one, or something that sounds like one. The editing depth on this thing is insane. We're not talking this cab/that cab, or even that preamp/that poweramp, we're talking component values, bias current... If you really want to get in and tamper with it, you can.

It's pretty impressive, honestly. The modelers have always been good for coverstuff, and this is the best of them by a substantial margin. And as I've mentioned prior, it's a nice preamp in its own right, and the effects are up there with anything- no need for a G-Force or Eventide or what have you. Plus as far as I can tell there isn't any lag in switching worth mentioning.

Plus alot of dudes have already done the work for you if you dont feel like making your own patch. There are over 1000 uploaded custom patches in the axe edit software which you download, takes 2 seconds, and load up to your axe edit, where you can edit them, or leave them as is. So bad ass.
