It never hurts to up the wattage and generally a higher wattage resistor will be less noisy. I use 0.6W metal film resistors throughout with the exception of any resistors that need to drop any significant wattage such as the ones in the RC filters and whatnot. For my next build which is a single channel 20W NMV thing based on a superbass I'm using 2W metal films just because I have the space and they will drop the noise floor a little. The fact they look way cooler has nothing to do with it
