Re: Kind of thinking about one of these for the apartment Ah, actually, it seems that the PDI-9 does not have a dummy load, and still requires one or a speaker. I do wonder what the attenuator does, and how, then. One of the bigger Palmers (PDI-03) does have a load box innit, and as you can see, is 1. effing huge, and 2. about 1/3 heatsink:

Re: Kind of thinking about one of these for the apartment AH. I believe that the PDI-09's attenuator is for the Balanced Line out, NOT the speaker.  So the speaker would just cruise along at full volume, and the attenuator would be to adjust the output of the line out so as not to overslam the interface or whatever you where feeding the DI signal. If you wanted silent rawk, you would still need a separate load box.

Re: Kind of thinking about one of these for the apartment Yeah thats probably the best thing to use if you know your way around speaker sims and stuff. I've looked into building an iso cab a few times and to get one that doesn't scream HELLO COMB FILTERING you need to make it huge and lag it with decent audio foam and I dont care about my neighbours anywhere near that much
