I don't even know how that would work. The lead channel has such excessive gain at full tilt. And does he still run those hollow Byrdlands? I wonder if it is more a matter of showmanship and either he doesn't use much of the 5150 in his actual sound, or perhaps he runs 12AT7s or something in the preamp. Or, maybe he just never really dimes his guitar volume at all.
Interesting method, fo sho.

He was using PRS's for a while, but further reading says he is using an LP for most of his live tunes recently. He was always a weirdo for tone and volume. He used to use 6 Super Twin Reverbs with the Byrdlands. I saw him do that a long time ago. Loudest shit I ever hear. Ever. no. Ever. It hurt.
