No idea how to match speakers to a powered mixer. We have a Behringer PMP2000, here are the specs:

Load Impedance:
- Left/monitor: 4/8/16 ohms
- Right/mono main: 4/8/16 ohms
- Bridge: 8-16 ohms

DSP:
- Converter: 24-bit Texas Instruments, 24-bit Sigma-Delta, 64/128-times oversampling

- Power @ 8 ohms: 165 w
- Power @ 8 ohms (Bridge): 800 w

- Mains Voltage: 120 V~, 60 Hz
- Power Consumption: max 1 kW

- Mains Connector: Standard IEC receptacle

Physical/Weight:

- Weight: 30.9 lbs

Output at 8 ohms stereo: 165 watts per channel Dimensions and Weight in PackagingShipping Weight: 35 lbs Shipping Dimensions: 20 x 14 x 13 in

So probably looking to get speakers from Behringer or Yorkville as those are the affordable brands around hmyaw... but unsure what ohmage and wattage a pair of should be! Preferably not Behringer as my old band destroyed a pair of their powered speakers and preferably 15" speakers

Get 8 Ohm speaks. You will be running 2 of them so you will be running it at 4 ohms.

...and speakers rated for less than 350W RMS, and run the amp at fairly conservative levels. You can toast a speaker just as dead underpowering it, tweeters especially. PA gear is a different animal than tube guitar gear.

http://www.3daudioinc.com/3db/archive/index.php/t-4265.html the posts by Kev in this thread offer a good technical explanation.

At first glance, I'd say those'll do the trick. I'd track down some reviews, if you can, just to make sure there's no recurring issues (like shitty tweeters; the Celestion neodymium tweeter thing is reassuring, though) that you should be wary of. Plus they're from this vague general area; a friend of mine used to work there. I'd expect yer getting sturdier kit than the Behringer stuff.
