More gear really needs to look like antiquated military hardware. I think JDK Audio (a branch of API) really has the right of it:

I just really want an amp that you push in buttons and then they light up and have words on them like a missile control system. :nods:

I like the toggle switches with the covers, myself.

Also, something with light-up pushbuttons for "BOOST" and "LOUD" and some sort of large lever or handle to turn it on. Perhaps a "TONE ENGAGE" button, with three-way toggles (with covers, of course) for treble/mids/bass. Less/neutral/more. The high gain version would have a less/more switch attendant the boost. The housing should be metal, either battleship grey or olive drab. This would basically be the best amp ever.

Perhaps the individual tone controls could be "armed", involving light-up pushbuttons as well.

I was thinking something like "PANTS" or "ELBOW THINGY".

"BULBOUS"

"UNPLEASANT"

Or for the everything loud version maybe something like "DICKS".

I.e. something that would appear military until you read it and then you would be fully aware that you were dealing, well, with dicks.

 That works too. I have no problem with the surreal and absurd.

Of course the DICKS button is everything full on. Or, tone circuit disengaged, volume/gain full up- essentially the same thing.

If you're going that way, you can name the controls anything. HUNAN BEEF, VILLAINY, TRICERATOPS, 12.4, ALL OF THEM, etc....

"DICKS" is about the finest designation one could use.

I need a new headshell for the Tron.

A military hardware style box would be fantastic.

Wats wrong with the Tronshell? I thought it was just a standard Fender bassman-type jobber?

Indeed it is, but 40 years of service have been unkind to it.

It is in good enough condition, but it is beat to shit and the boards are separating at the corners so I think they glued it together and that glue is starting to go soft.

I am going to back track a few posts, I think the power switch should be one like this with a label :It's Alive

That is similar in style to what I was thinking re: a power switch, yes.
