Picked me up a '65 Twin Reverb RI from the mid 90's,

It's loud, heavy and awesome.

Hmm, guess I could do a quick camera video, as I has no recording interface at the moment.

Sounds pretty twinny. Except. You must not have had it up very much, because i can still hear the drums.

Five on a twin is pretty loud tho. I am still surprised i can hear the drums. :huzzah:

Maybe the RIs are a little quieter? That would be a helpful feature.

How do you like the verb and trem they built into the thing? Is it all tube still on that one?

I need to replace some tubes me thinks. The Vibrato channel is noisy, slightly noisier with the Reverb on and even noisier with the trem on. Funny thing, even running through the Normal channel, if I hit the vibrato button on the footswitch there is a quite noticeable noise. Supposedly the guy JUST returbed the preamp tubes with JJ''s, but the power tubes look like the original Groove Tubes. So I am going to start by swapping the power tubes anyway, then I am going to check the preamps while I'm at it. I am suspicious that he put 12AX7s in the 12AT7 slots. That or it might just be a microphonic tube. Or the tubes are older than he said. While I'm in there I'm going to check the sockets and put a little cleaner on each tube to make sure they are making good contact.

That said, the reverb and trem are alright, but if I were to use a trem it would have to be tap tempo (looking at you Empress) so this one won't get much use. A solid reverb pedal would probably be a step up from the onboard reverb, so chances are I am going to be running through the Normal channel anyway.

The normal channel is loud, clean and not noisy, and that is what I was looking for.

And if you ever want to get evicted, you can crank it all the way up with a les paul and get this:
