picked up a 72 Bassman head today.

I figured why not.

I traded it for my LP Special with hum buckers. I got that very cheap and had asked this guy about this baseman a bunch of times, this time we both needed something so it worked. Played it for 2 hours this afternoon.

Yeah it does as claimed.

I dig those, they can be made to make proper rock noises. What are you running it through for a cab?

Still have my Marshall 6100 cab blue/purple with 2xV30 and 2x Greenbacks. :eekass:

Put the king of Tone in front... sweet jesus galloping Christ.....

I played a silverface Bassman head once. I really liked its warm, punchy and loud clean with just a whisper of grit. So basically I'm jelly.

Nice! How are you setting it/running it? Cranked out like or cleanly?

I am curious as well. I can tell you a '72 Super sounds glorious, but I can't speak for the Bassman.

well, I haven't had the time to really crank her up, well the time with everyone out of the house. so I am running her clean and using a Timmy and King Of Tone in front for the rawks :rawk: Very warm and the cleans, well, yes they do all they are cracked up to do. I would love a spring verb innit, but I am using my timeline with a hint of delay so its good.

Very happy with this trade

I dig the concept of using pedals for dirt through a clean amp.

That's why I have a Twin. I only have 3 amps now, the Twin, the old indestructible Stereo Chorus, and my Recto.

It can work. I used to gig with an OCD through an AC30. My home jamming rig is a Bogner Uberschall preamp pedal through a li'l 15-watt Vox, and it works. One of my friends has taken to using an Empress Multidrive through an Orange something-or-other for doomstuff, and his tone's great. Just another way of getting there. :tu:

fuck.

So primitive.

I was playing Tumblin Dice last night, Tele>Analogman KoT> TC Hall of Fame for Spring verb.

Nailed the tone.

Being able to bet a little dirt on top of the bassman without being screaming loud.
