Thoughts?

I have a need for semi-tweakable modulation toanes with a tap tempo.

This looks like it may be the solution. IIRC some guys at HCFX seem to love it to death.

DISCLAIMER: I haven't played an M9. That being said:

I think rather favorably of Line 6's effects. Not so much an amp modeling fan, but their effects are pretty sweet. I have a Pod XT with the FX pack, Pod Farm and have owned/gigged/recorded the old pro-series rack units. If I'm recalling correctly, the M-series has better A/D than the Pods. This should fit your bill quite nicely. Nice 'verbs and delays and fun filters, to boot.

Yeah, the most slights I hear against the M series seems to be against their OD/Fuzz/Dirt models.

I have all that covered.

But in one unit it would cover my:

Delay
Reverb
Tremolo

And would let me mess with

Looper (28 seconds)
Filters
Other crazy modulations.


Tap tempo for all time based effects is fucking perfect for me as well. Really the only thing I am fighting is the price tag, but at $400 new it compares nicely to buying all separate units.

Plus, it has the DL4 sounds built in (which I want, including teh !esrever).


Those run around $200 alone, so the cost is not obscene at all.

I say go for it. It will be more versatile than separate units at that price.

They look pretty cool to me. I agree wif snaxo, as long as they aren't trying to make amps(though even then the Pod shit can be pretty gnerl for silent recoarding porpoises) they can be right swell. I would want one almost solely for the delay/looper, wif all the other bellsy whistles being icing.

If i could afford it, i would probably already have one for playing with.

That is pretty much how I feel.

The Delay, Verb and Trem tones alone justify the unit for me.

Plus, I think they have ran their course of super hype-ness at the HCFX, so chances are I can snag one for a decent price. Alternatively, I could go the other route I considered; that is, buy boutiquey single-unit boxes.

The effects have some nice character to 'em and are quite tweakable- if that's what you want- but their interfaces are generally dumbass easy to navigate as well. Consider for four bills you could get a DL4, Boss RV5 or EHX 'verb and maybe a tremolo in there as well... now look at all the other goodies you're getting. And presets, and tap tempo...
