Post Modding my GE-7
I traded my SD-1 for a GE-7, and I'm going to mod it just because its cheap to make it a lot better (or at least what people on teh forums say...). I just need someone (chris_d) to look over my parts selection to make sure I don't buy anything  Small size is king. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find the exact parts list for the Sniper Mod, or any other mod really except for this guy's:

these things ok?:

What are you planning on making it do, anyhow?

first link is the instructions, its basically change the op amps with quieter chips, and change out some of the electrolytic capacitors in the signal path and replace them with poly caps. Result is supposed to make it a much quieter unit.

That opamp should be fine.

For box caps, usually sticking around 63v or under will get you a small enough cap for most pedals. The ones you listed should be swell.

The smallest 1uf that i know of are the Panasonic film ones like these: http://www.mouser.com/Passive-Component ... ic&FS=True

The 1uf of that series in 50v is just about 6mm and square. And they are nice caps.

(Actually, that link should be showing only all of the 50v Panasonic polyester film caps that Mouser currently actually has in stock, so it can be useful for selecting other pedal making values as well)

LASTLY. If you check any of the Mouser product pages, they list the "lead spacing", which will let you know what to expect for size also. In these cases, both the ones you listed and the ones i listed show that value as 5mm. So you can actually go into the pedal and see if those electrolytic caps holes are about 5mm apart. Any of the caps listed here so far should be fine.

Thanks Chris

Now I just need to figure out what else I need... Making a $6 order and pay $5 shipping = :mexican:

Is the only DIY univibe/rotary speaker thingy clone the neovibe?

Hell, I might want to mod mine also. I barely even use it, because usually even after I tweak it and get a good sound, I bypass it and it's like ' :red: Sounds better when it isn't on...'

I plan on using mine to even the tone between my dark sounding LP and my bright Strat... I'll EQ the amp for one and EQ the pedal for the other... The mods really just quite the amp down, I think I read about a few resistor changes but I can't find them again
