Timmy arrived Wednesday. (fast shipping from Paul C!) I brought it to practice, but didn't use it as I was playing at a rehearsal studio through a Crate Blue Voodoo, so I didn't want to even bother. I hate that amp so much I almost stop playing just to focus my energy on the hatred of that amp. Yesterday I spent the day with my kids and didn't really get a chance to hit it. I have a gig tonight so I will give it a shot during sound check. |

I'm not sure I've ever run across anyone who actually likes the thing. At least not the gain channel. I have read it makes a good poweramp or slave amp if you bypass the preamp section by running into the effects return. Random aside- apparently the bigass version of this (isn't it like 300W? Not the 60 or 120W ones) isn't a Blue Voodoo at all but an SVT with a high gain channel, which actually sounds pretty neat. Pity I've never seen one in person. Regardless, I wanna hear what this thing does. What map are you gonna try running it with? |

What I did/How I Fell In Love With My Timmy (non-Paul C. so YMMV): 1.) Set it to a really nice transparent setting. 2.) Add drive to get the amount of boost you want 3.) Twiddle with bass knob to tighten bottom end to taste 4.) Twiddle with treble knob to dial in the high end 5.) Mess with volume to match your toan 6.) Profit The beauty is, the things make a great transparent boost and a great overdrive, it all comes down to the twiddling. |

tonight I'll be using the 6100 (the Bogner never goes to the beach [overspray]) so I will be trying it on that a bit, tomorrow I will use it with the Shiva. |
