You mean wider, like this?

Image

If so, would you prefer that, to something with a smaller footprint but taller box, like this?

Image

Or, as a point of size reference, like the one on the left here(the one on the right is a 'regular' MXR size):

Image

Basically, the standard small MXR/1590B box is going to be too small for all of the stuff that needs to fit in it. I could *probably* make it all fit into the taller 125B little box, and i could *definitely* make it go in the shorter doublewide 1590BB. The doublewide is definitely smaller than the Ruskymuff:

Image

But if you want it as small as possible, i could probably fit it in the 125B box. The knobs and switches will be close and there won't be much room for pictars, but i should be able to make it go in there.

It can be bigger than MXR, s long as it's not as larger as the USS RUSKY MUFF. also, small knobs are fine, I don't change settings much once I find my toanz.....

You should have that be the mids control. Like a scooped, flat, and boosted mids 3-way rotary switch.

My BYOC Muff does that but it has a forth position where it bypasses the eq section.

I am pretty sure what i have in there now is going to be nice. I actually decided to do the EQ in three separate sections. There is a low cut before the gain, a high cut at the very end of the circuit, and then in the middle, after the gain but before the high-cut, an actual proper, active, midrange cut/boost circuit. Two pretty fuzzy opamp stages first though. And maybe a four-way input bass shelf just before that.

So you can crank the bass on the input, and the pregain basscut, crank the highcut to fullbright, and scoop the active mid, for a bigmuffy sound. Or you can cut the input bass and boost the mids for a much tighter heavy distortion.

It also works as a slightly dirty EQ with the gain all the way down. Basscut and active midboost or cut makes for a lot of flexibility.

In summation, it took a while, but basically: Tor, i think i know what i will build now. I have it all breadboarded up now. It is maybe a little closer to a heavy distortion than fuzz, but that is also pretty much what you get when you tighten up a big muff. It can get all huge and fuzznasty with the bass up though.

Worst case scenario, if you wind up hating it, you can send it back and i will build you something else though. I will have to build myself one of these anyhow, so that would work out fine.

Now i have to figure out what size box it will need. It will be five knobs plus a slider switch. I just have to do a layout to see how big the circuit board will wind up. :monocle:

If tor doesn't dig it, I would probably be interested in it.

Shit wait no I can't afford anymore gear now. Mike's G-Mrajor is the last gear acquisition for some time. Besides a new PC, but that is more universally useful than a sweet new stompbox.

Yarr, whenever is convenient for ye. I am just shuffling around with layouts at the moment, trying to get it small enough to fit all of everything.

Also, taking another look at the pre-everything low cut i have been using, to see if it is maybe too complex for what it needs to do. It might be a little, it is a little different than what doods usually use for it in pedlols.

I will preface this by saying that i know/assume that this wasn't what you had in mind.

So, your pedal won't look like this.

But. After a long night of standard electronerdery, i began looking for images and concepts for the T&A Fuzz. I did a lot of different layouts with a lot of different photoes.

And near the end of the night(err... beginning of the morning) my mind started to wander back a few decades...

I did too many different ones like this, but here are three, for your amusement anyhow:

Call it the T&A Fuzz, Vintage Edition?

Image

Which i actually think looks pretty nice with just the color fields and not the image itself:

Image

And this one came out of an old fashion illustration, but with added color takes on kind of an interesting graphic novel sort of vibe:

Image

There were too many of them not to at least post some. Won't be used, but why shouldn't they be seen? :idk:

The one i actually use, i haven't decided yet, but it will be a bit more... modern, and with the original control names, or whatever else you want it to say on it. Just let me know. :huzzah:

Oh-Em-Eff'n-Gee.  :D

The first one might be my favorite pedal design I've ever seen.

Yar, in the end i decided to go the "no actually exposed tits" route.

Also, i was unable to get this pair of images to do anything useful within the context of this pedalsize/knob arrangement:

It lives!

Image

Can't test it for loud because my sister Dingdong is asleep, but it works for quiet. :idk: No LED until after it is painted though, because it gets hardwired to the switch and i would just have to undo it to paint.

Annnd, right on cue, a week of rain. So painting/drying it might take a while. But anyhow, it lives! :huzzah:
