If you seek one, and for whatever reason cannot find an adequately inexpensive specimen, the technologically informed word on the street is that this pedal:

Is a clone.

The Bass control is evidently: inside, as a trimpot. :isay:

Shit is buttnasty, fo sho, but looks rehousable enough, if one's aesthetic sensibilities are found assaulted by the thing.

That thing looks tough.

Like, if you threw it against a wall it would get up, walk back over and bitch slap you in the face for throwing like a pansy.

Cool! But how close it? I just looked up some videos and it basically sounds like a bad distortion there, played by kids who are just starting on guitar. I need to hear it with everything maxed playing some br00tz!

I'll bet it's cheap though. Maybe I should just order one.

This dood(who is generally 100% correct about what circuits are(he usually doesn't say shit unless he has traced it himself, and he definitely knows what he is doing)) says "1:1 clone" here: http://freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php ... 83#p158083

:idk:

Such a lovely horrible sound.

This is quickly shaping up to be an HM-2 worship thread.

Well I was talking to my guitarist about it just now and he found one of the real ones on Craig's. I'm offering 40$ for it... we'll see what happens.

The tone in the clip that Cam posted rules.

Yup, it sounds like razor-filled fucking lava. Black Breath are from Bellingham, just about a little over an hour away from where I live. They are somewhat of quasi-local heroes to the initiated and informed. Kickass band with awesome tones.

So I'm looking to obtain one of these. :huzzah:

The Boss or the Daphon?

Daphon... all attempts at Boss pedal acquisition have fallen through.

Ah word. Apparently there is a Daphon dealer in Connecticut here, i dunno what the deal is in Canuckistan.

One thing worth noting, Daphon sells basically the exact same pedal under half a dozen names. The pedals generally look exactly like the one i posted, same black label, even the same exact model number. Literally the only thing that is different is that it says something other than Daphon on it.

Here, check all of the ones on the list that have the same model number: http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/daphon/e20/e20mt

Daphon E20MT Heavy Metal
Carlson E20MT Heavy Metal
Da Aqua E20MT Heavy Metal
Dot On Shaft E20MT Heavy Metal
Roberts E20MT Heavy Metal
Shelter E20MT Heavy Metal
Swamp E20MT Heavy Metal

That might help if you have trouble finding them. Random toy stores carry them too. I have seen the E20DS(the orange one) in a couple stores at least.

Yes I've been looking to acquire from the Daphon website in Connecticut.

That's interesting though, that it's available under all those brands. I might be able to find the pedal at a nearby shopping mall, then, I seem to think they have some random brand and it did look sort of like that.

They also seem to be making pedals in the same plastic frame as the Ibanez Soundtanks of the mid nineties? The Soundtank TS-5 was the nicest tubescreamer I've ever had strangely, but it broke, so if they are selling the same one...

The cases seem a little different than the Ibanez ones. I don't know what is inside the daphons. I maybe will at some point try to buy one of the E10MTs and see if it is also an HM2, or something else though.

This is sonically quite obviously a clone:

$30 yo, and available more places than the Daphon one.
