haven't even been able to play through it... had a father/daughter dance to attend with my little girl, so I'll hit it up tomorrow. I will report back.

To report on the dance... my daughter is afraid I would embarrass the shit out of her. Well I would, I have no problem shakin' it  . But, alas, for her sake, I was good.

I traded with this1smyne (tgp, facebook and this1smyne.com) for this Marsnall. Love it, but it has to be cranked so loud. BTW the buffer I bought from this1smyne was inexpensive and probably the best thing I've ever done to my pedalboard. Srsly.

Post Re: N(free)PD
ok so the review on the Tesla:

Well you see the graphics, none could be better, and it HAZ A BLOO LIGHT. OK so we are 2/2 so far. :bangin:

OK time to plug it in. So i ran it into the test board:
Image

and then into my trusty Bugera V22. I love this amp for as cheap as it was ($200 - Craigslist) 2 channels toobz.

I used my Reverend SSC (but I had the pickguard with 2 Humbuckers on it, so right now it's in Rocco configuration)
I ran in into the clean channel first to see what I was getting myself into. I don't use a ton of fuzz, but I like what I like. We know our own Master Tinkerer made the custom TnA fuzz that I love built to my specs with everyone's ideas thrown in. But I luvs me some pedlols, so I r excite.

3 small knobs, one large knob, a toggle switch, and the trusty stomp switch. Simple enuff. :nods: Not a MXR sized enclosure, but more squaring, about the size of my Pork Loin, but thinner.

The large knob is a 6 way tone type of thingy. The 3 smaller knobs are Input, Output and Drive? I believe that they way it is labeled. If you look at the pic you will see that the labeling isn't that easy to see. I like this, You have to tilt the pedal to see the labels, but listen fucktards, it's 4 knobs, I think you can figure it out. I know what my pedals knobs do after about 2 minutes.

It's not an over the top fuzz. I would say it seems very distortion box mixed with a fuzz. Some of the settings are definitely fuzz but some are just basically distortion. You can get SO many usable tones with this. It could easily knock a few pedals off your board if you like dicking with knobs between songs.

The input knob is weird. Seems like some type f weird blend knob, which is becoming one of my favorite traits on pedals, I will have to add on my review as I don't have the paper here that explains the input knob but it work in clockwise or counter-clockwise, just differently.

This is not Big Muffy at all I did't find anything unusable which I can find easily on most fuzzes, and the toggle switch takes you to a whole new level. Toggle is labeled NPD. Npending Pedal of Death. no not really. It is for Narcissistic Personality Disorder, the switch drops in distortion diodes which slightly compresses the signal. Which is what have read. I like it. It makes it, well, just MOAR.

So I get some really nice tones in clean, ranging from distortion of pretty heavy fuzz. Hit the drive channel and it creates that nice lingering sustain. I only got muddy , in a few extreme low end setting, when using a neck pickup or a blended pup setting.

I pack it up, it's going to get some use in the gig Sat night.

I look at my board when I'm setting up and fuck, where do I put it??? OK so I take the DLS off and shove it after my buffer and before the Timmy. From there we go PS-5>Phase90>Tuna Melt> Carbon Copy> BOGNER Shiva

Great tones with minimal time to try things before the show starts, we were scheduled to go on at 10 we go there at 8:30 and I had to actually start at 9:30... I play 2 instruments and setup the PA so I put the Tesla on the board and hope for the best, I set levels and use it on the first tune.

:dukes:

:mwahaha:

Glorious Glorious Victory. I love it. I end up using it on I think 5 or six songs, I will have to remember the list but I used it with the American Special Tele for the first song, on the Bogner clean and then the Les Paul had the rest of the night, and used the Tesla on mostly the clean channel but did hit it on the drive channel at least during one solo.

I will try to get more specific on the tones coming out of this as I get a chance to use it more, I will use it at practice though a Marshall tonight. I'll see how it goes through that.

Clips! I would also like to see how it looks on the inside, myslef, as i haven't heard much about the builder before this, and that is the stuff that i am into. :huzzah:

What flavor of fuzz would you compare it to? Have you ever had a fuzzface, a tonebender, etc?

clips will come, I'll take a gut shot. I was never a fuzz guy so I've only had a few, but I've been told it hits FF stuff. It's a hybrid oh here found a quote

Quote:
The GOD BOX Tesla Fuzz is a hybrid germanium and silicon circuit (inside there is a vintage NOS germanium transistor paired with a high quality silicon transistor).

There are 5 basic controls for the Tesla Fuzz:

INPUT – Input controls the input signal, but it also stabilizes the circuit. “Offering subtle shades of fuzz”
TONE – The tone knob is a 6 way rotary switch (I like this) which gives you set tonal options from a bump in the midrange and almost no lows to full range thunder. The #6 position is an “homage to the classic FF”
DRIVE – Controls the drive level
OUTPUT – Controls the output signal level
NPD – Toggle switch to control the NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder). This drops in distortion diodes which slightly compresses the signal.

Hello All!
I'm the head cook and bottle washer at GOD BOX FX. I was asked to come over and say "HEY" by ^^^^that guy up there^^^^. If anyone has any questions about the TESLA, or pedal building in general, don't hesitate to ask. I'm rather open about the process and encourage discussion. :) Generally, I learn WAAAAAY more that way!

Hello!
I try not to take myself too seriously... BUT... ya never know. I may be the quiet neighbor that no one suspects is really a sociopathic axemurdererererer.

It's always the quiet ones....who stutter.

I'm not sure as to the etiquette in this forum...SO... If it's NOT OK to post links to sites, please forgive my stupidity and...uh...be kind. A poster asked for gut shots of the Tesla. There are several 'in process' shots of pedals being built on the FB page linked in my sig. It's in the photo section, probably under TESLA or GOD COMPLEX SERIES. I tried to make sure that there were pics of the circuit as it was being developed, along with several shots as I populated the PCB and wired up the box. I believe there is even a shot where the PCB is 'flipped out' at a right angle to the box so that it can be easily serviced.

Keep in mind, when looking for gut shots, etc...The GOD COMPLEX SERIES is made up of 3 pedals that share the same circuit topology. That means that if you don't find the gut shot you are looking for, it may be in a different photo album (or on my personal FB page...doh!).

Cooolio. I looked around to find a rulez or 'don't touch me there, uncle johnny' faq...Thanks for the update!

Some boards (who shall remain nameless) frown upon some of the...ahem...manufacturer...type posts. To be blunt about it, I enjoy what I do. It's not about pimping my wares as much as it is about having discussions. Hell, half the time I tell someone NOT to buy my pedals. hehehehahahah...wait...why am I laughing? I'm serious. lol.

I do what I do because I enjoy that whole left brain/right brain coming together kinda thing. Talking on a forum is about communication and discussion, right? It's about PEOPLE who have things in common, right? So let's get to it!

I love me some gear!

Sorry for the mini rant/qualification. I've been hammered in the past by people because I ask questions about *things* and because I'm supposed to be the 'pro' who has all the answers...and...well...you get the idea. Now THOSE guys take themselves WAAAAAAAY too seriously.

I cracked myself up.

Carl
