The lead purveyors of Entombedcore compare various versions of HM-2, original and replica.
I am tickled that of all the versions people are talking about, no one says a damn thing about my Daphon Heavy Metal. A diamond in the rough, that pedal.

Re: God City HM-2 comparisons
I have long found it amusing that there exist multiple boutique clones of the HM2.
I suppose, less amusing now that the originals are getting up there in years abused and in price tho.
Boss should fucking absolutely just reissue the thing. All of their attempts to replace it have failed badly to do what the original already does perfectly.
Also you can hear pretty clearly why all those kids go HM2->ampeg V-something, over the marshall angle. The V2s/V4s just have that awesome unique breakup of the clean sound. And they have those amazing/fantastic active tone switches and controls. I just wish they were a little more maintenance friendly. They don't come apart that nicely, and they use a small pile of non-standard/hard-to-source tubery. When they were available for $300-400 all day long, they were totally worth it though. Add fifteen years of time to them and double-to-triple the price and it is less of a sure thing now. They do sound so cool though.
