And it is a really fantastic overdrive that basically is just as much a distortion as an OD.

Listening to the PGS vid, i am not 100% that the spectrum works as designed on the one i built, but it seems more correct after hearing the other one.

If anything, i think that PGS has a tendency to make the pedals sound slightly too good, sounds like they are running some pretty solid recording gear/compression, etc.

Excellent heavy OD though. Kind of like a Marshall Guv'nor (or like its modded copy, the Suhr Riot) but clearer and girthier than either(to get more clarity plus wider low end is a nice trick, usually doesn't work that way: this pedal has some cleverly placed filter frequencies)

Doesn't, for all it is doing with frequencies, screw up the sound of anything though. Whatever guitar you put in, sounds like that guitar coming out. A lot of other gainier ODs tend to pinch lows or highs or mids a fair bit.

A nice one. They are only like $100 for the real deal too, a solid deal.

That's a pretty nice sounding pedal. Oh and fuck you for making me want another dirt pedal. Dammit.

I know, right? For whatever reason 90% of what i want/build is dirt pedals. I hardly even use ANY pedals at all.

[Along these lines, for some reason now i want to try a Klon, too. The EH Soulfood is supposed to be a copy so i might go that route, as the circuit build is kind of huge for what winds up being essentially a dirty boost.]

ASLO, the Visual Sound Open Road is supposed to be a Nobels ODR-1 copy. Which is funny because they want like $20 more than the real deal.

Does sound quite similar at the very least, though a little less interesting to me.

Also this little dano is supposed to be related:

But, though i like the sound of it(one of my friends had one for years but i never looked into it then), the dirt is not as clear/good to me, as these other two.

I owned Klon and have an EHX SF. The SF is still on my board. It's a super dope boost for high gain amps. Im using a tiny bit of the treble boost and drive (both around 9:00) can really tighten up your sound and make it super punchy.

My buddy gave me one of these. :red: Just now seeing this thread. I haven't played with it almost at all, should probably get to that.

I tend to collect dirt pedals and seem to love them all. It's hard to justify them now having gone from 85-100 gigs/year to what looks like about 24-30

Indeed, I could collect dirt pedals like a woman collects purses.
