Mr. Chris from Garda and I were discussing means of generating feedback without amps onstage. As you may have gathered, we like the stuff, and seeing as we have a rack full of modelers for live work, sometimes the monitor wedge doesn't cut it.

This caught our eyes, and I'm preferring it- in clips, at least- to the Boss FB-2. It seems somehow less controlled, yet more controllable- ie. real. Hypothetically this should work with in-ears, where the Boss will not.

Go figure, it's an unashamedly digital collaboration with Softube. Whatevs, Softube rock, and I am hardly a purist.

What say ye?

Seems like it could potentially be pretty cool. Strikes me as the type of pedal whose misuse might make some interesting oddsounds.

Seems to behave a little like an envelope filter crossed with an octaver and a compressor. I wonder how real it feels to play.

It sounds pretty great to me, at least within the context of the way those guys are playing it (aside from the EVH guy, who doesn't seem to understand the pedal at all).

Buy one and tell us what the score is. :eyebrows:

Chris von Garda and I have been looking for one of these to no avail. I guess they were only in production for a very short time. I'll be picking up the Boss FB-2 to demo with our rigs later this week. Eventually I found a video on Sweetwater's site which demonstrated it could feed back a chord, which is important to us. :snax:

That being said, if either one of us finds a Runaway, we're snagging it immediately. We like the expression pedal control and would like to A/B them.

Though you might be better off with the Boss. Reading some reviews for the runaway: "Chords and raggedy playing leave it stumped"
