...followed by more months of just not giving a shit... My OLCircuits kit finally arrived. http://www.olcircuits.com/olc_slowcentury.html There was a delay where they wouldn't ship it because they were out of jacks. Then they just... forgot about me. Sketchy fucks. After the third email to them they go "oh sheeit! Okay right, we'll ship it this Monday with a discount." I'm looking forward to soldering it together, and then enjoying its use. But more importantly... HOW SHOULD I FINISH IT? Right now I am quite enamoured with the thought of spray painting it brown (I have brown spray paint.), and then a layer of rainbow sparklez. It would be the 'Unicorn Turd Fantastic Distortion'. If anyone has better ideas please, I'd like to hear them! I seem to recall some good ones came up in the past. I don't feel like getting too involved in the finish, I just don't want to settle for naked metal. |

I don't know, that sounds pretty amazing.  That is pretty dickballs lame on the shipping delay. At this point, the "discount" should be, oh, about 50%, IMO. That is just ridiculous. |

All that shit should be online in a .pdf, no? When you bought the thing, did they send you any links or anything? Man, they have been in business for a while, their shit shouldn't be this fucked up.

Oh hey, i seem to have a schematic for this thing here. I don't think it is OLC's though, so i don't know if the numbering is correct for the components. But if it comes down to it, you could probably use it to figure out what goes where. Even though it would be ridiculous for you to have to do that.

Right then. The journey begins! Ignore the other circuits lying around. My work space is a mess.  Brown really is the best colour. I think it's still looking a bit too conservative, though...  ZOMG! Unstrung... YO AM GAE It's loose craft sparkles, glued on with a finely sparkled spray paint.

If I were unable to procure proper sparkles that would have been the best way to go. I searched far and wide for the sparkles, in the name of unicorns everywhere. Therefore it must be that which it is destined to be... UNICORN TURD FANTASTIC DISTORTION. |

Cool. I might download, but if so just so I can apply it to other sounds. For guitar I'll just run the overdrive into the interface, like in my Repulsion clip. Mmm, though if I do get a really good performance and THEN decide I need it, it'd come in handy... |
