YouWaShock!
The compressor plugin that came with my interface, because it has presets and I don't actually know how to use a compressor...

Lo Pass filters...

Native Instruments
SoundToys
the free SSL compressor

...even though Logic runs a different plugin format... they're all pretty much the same.

For recoarding.

1. Digital Fish Phones.

http://www.digitalfishphones.com/main.p ... &subItem=5

Blockfish and Floorfish in particular, i find useful.

2. Tin Brook Tales

http://www.tinbrooketales.com/ (go to his archive/plugins section(he has a link at top of the page), then to the "new-tbt-vstplugins" part to DL stuff.)

He has several nice ones there. I particularly like the TL-3127 compressor/limiter.

3. Antress.

http://antress.er-webs.com/

Has a big package of VSTs. Mostly i just use the EQs from them on stuff. In particular, i like the Modern Deep Purple one. I find it interesting for using on oddsounds/electronic/noise stuff.

4. Glacebverb.

http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1566.html

A very useful and pretty good sounding reverb. I don't use much reverb myself, but when i do, i generally have okay luck getting this to make the type of sound i am looking for.

5. Reaper's plugins.

• ReaFIR is one of the coolest things ever. It can be used as a very detailed EQ, as a multiband compressor, as a noise suppressor, as a very accurately tunable gate. Shit is crazy.
• ReaEQ is a great EQ.
• ReaVerb and ReVerbate both have usable sounds in them.
• ReaComp has some good features and okay presets. It is definitely usable.

6. Also, for the sort of thing that it is, George Yohng's W1 Limiter, is a workalike for Waves L1 Limiter plugin, and does indeed sound just as wretched as L1 on heavy limiting. I often use it set very lightly only as a peak limiter, because it is quick and easy and doesn't seem to be very resource hungry at it. http://www.yohng.com/w1limit.html

There are all kinds of others out there, but the above are the ones i have used most often. :idk:

I am finally getting results i am happier with out of the junk gear i have at my disposal, also. At some point i will post some decent recoardings i did with the above things.

Bass Preamp v1.1 by ronaldpassion
LePou LeCab
Izotope Ozone
TSE X30 for uber quick shit
LePou Legion as above
ReaComp (I use the FUCK out of this)
ReaEQ as above
SD 2.0
Revalver here and there for jamming
GGate
GClip
TSS
FuzzPlus 2 (awesome on teh bass)

I think that about covers shit I actually use.

anyone know of a good sounding drum vst (free) ? i want to be able to export my midi drum file from GP5 and put it in reaper and have it play my midi. all my recordings sound shitty cuz of shitty drums. also, 4front kicks ass for bass imo.

Does anyone have the DLL file for Kjaerhus Classic Master Limiter that they can upload somewhere? I can't seem to get on their site and I needs it cos I'm on my laptop that doesn't have all my plugins
