I need to run my guitars DI, and the Focusrite 6 only has the two mic inputs. This would open up a lot of options with my recording setup, and would even let me reamp if I am not mistaken. I couldn't care less about the t00b (all of the low-end ARTs have them anyway), but this seems like a good tool to use for DIing my guitar and bass stuff.

Anyone hear any horror stories about the ART line that I should know about?

There's combo jacks on the front of the Saffire 6. It's an XLR and 1/4" in on the same jack. You can plug a 1/4" cable into there and be ready to roll. The line inputs on the Saffire series sound quite nice. No need for an external device.

As an aside, the big 2ru ART "Pro" units- the VLA compressor and DMPA mic pre- are actually quite nice and very good deals, among the better inexpensive pieces in the audio world.

In my defense, I've only had the chance to play with the thing for like twenty minutes. I get another chance tonight though so I'm going to like ... do that. I could have sworn I read it had 1/4" input, but pulled it out the box and was like ...

On a similar not, everything I got from Sweetwater came in the other day. I finally got to pull everything out earlier today and it is all quite nice, I made some nice purchases. Except, the Audix cab-grabber regular is really fucking small, and I need the Audix cab-grabber XLs. The exchange has already been processed, so that should be nice.






Actually it looks like my neighbors are finally leaving, so I might do some recording right now. Honestly, I really am just doing everything DI for the time being I think. I need to find like, a storage center or something that is musician-friendly to use as a little studio. I just can't get a very good apartment toan from the TT, one of the reasons I sold mine. The H30 certainly doesn't seem to help. It is louder than I remember my TT being, which was through different speakers (note the plural ...).

If you're not used to seeing combo jacks- I don't have 'em on anything; my bassist's MOTU interface has a couple- I can totally see how that would throw you off. No biggie.

The H30 is a pretty efficient bastard. It helps, if you're recording at home, to have either neighbors who are stoners who don't give a shit how loud you play, or live alone. Guitar amps want to be loud. Make them loud.

LOL i did the same thing when i got my saffire. i open it up and i'm like FUUUUUU. i only realized about 6 months later that they were combo. haha i honestly thought the hole was just part of the xlr jack. then a crazy idea came to me; i wonder if i can plug my guitar into that
