I have come to the conclusion that no one on the internet has ever used these ever (based on one page of google results :red: ).

Makes me skeptical.

What looks interesting about them to you?

What do you want the mic to do for you?

Eh, nothing in particular. Just randomly browsing microphones and stumbled across them, I had never noticed them before. It seems like it would be a SM57 variant of some sort, but as you are well aware I know nothing about these sort of things :red:

Hypothetically, I would plan to use it to mic my V30 clone or Cl80 clone opposite a LDC Condenser and in the future a ribbon (most likely an RSM-4). Also, if I end up getting more inputs I would probably use an SM57 variant on the V30, a ribbon on the CL80 and an LDC as a room mic, maybe switching around the LDC and ribbon a lot.

But once again, no idea what the fuck I am talking about. I really am not going to be buying anything until I move and am able to crank stuff. Then I can try out my current OM2/990 combo at proper volumes. But, I do like the idea of a heavier rugged mic as I do have a tendency to be rather rough on equipment that isn't a guitar or amp :red:

You should just buy a SM57, and then rehouse its electronic guts within a giant dildo. The additional discrete insertion of armature wire within the silicon would allow unrivaled positioning ease for said floppy57.

That would be the classiest course, anyhow. :dildo:

Are you going to re-house it in a giant dildo? :red:

A 57, while not always the best answer, is very rarely the wrong answer. Sorta its appeal.

It would be brilliant to strap the thing onto a drummer's snare for a session, no doubt, some sort of leather strap mounting mechanism would seem to be in order. The housing would function as a sort of shock absorber, jiggling around in an epically amusing manner. Might conceivably make the drummer a little uncomfortable though, depending on their general mindset.

I used to be in an industrial death metal band that rehearsed in an old lesbian bar in a really sketchy neighborhood the drummer bought and converted into rehearsal spaces. His drum riser was the bar area, still with a mirror behind it. He found a random dildo randomly laying about in the building and jammed it onto the end of a cymbal stand. Oddly enough, people rarely noticed this.
