I think I used it on the Dimensions Divide remix I did, and I know it's on a couple Garda tracks. Free. Violent.

Also try parallel processing (duplicate, run horrid effect at extreme settings, blend to taste), reversing things, etc. Any sort of really eff'd up delay would be cool here. Send the delay out to a vocoder, flip it backwards and blend it under the normal vocal. Wacky shit like that.

Yes, yes. I will attempt use of this plugin as soon as I am done editing this here stuff. I was also thinking a couple layers of pitch shift for the classic "I have become demonic" effect...

Send the effect to the pitch shift. Think right before the bridge in Master Of Puppets where each repetition of the delay drops the voice further.

I still love that album.

There's no shame in loving that album. It's an archetype and a great piece of work, fantastically put together. One of the greatest metal records.

If Metallica didn't make Master Of Puppets, we wouldn't be talking about them, or at least we'd be talking about them like they were... Exodus or Anthrax or something, like, they were good but they didn't make that record. And they couldn't have done Justice without it (I'm torn re: my favorite there. Justice is daaaaark.) or the Black Album likewise, nor then any of the rock/experimental stuff they've fucked off with since then, which is hit-or-miss but points for having the balls to do it. Massive respect for those guys for having achieved mainstream success and saying "I don't give a fuck, I'll do what I feel like" and making some really demented-sounding albums. (And a few lovely sounding ones sonically. And a few intentionally hideous ones.)

I almost never listen to them, or metal, or even heavy rock at all lately, but when I realize what a huge middle finger their direction has been since Load (which I think is a genuinely good hard rock album, a solid if overlong B+, as I've stated many times, with exquisite production) I really like them for that. You get it or your don't, you like it or you don't, and they have the audience from the name and the past. Good on them. They can do what they want, they beat the game.

Though the problem is solved, I also know how to fuck up spoken to word to make it sound like it is going through a loudspeaker/megaphone. If I throw that into an nifty vocoder to set the pitch I get a good robot voice.

Distortion, EQ- kill the top and bottom end, you want mids here- and delay. Short delay, little feedback, like a long slap echo kinda deal.

i nice white noise fizz can give it that 1950's loudspeaker vibe. I used that in the background of the group vox from the Gents League of Luxury song.

There's always the option of just plugging the mic into a guitar amp and micing that. Spring reverb is a bonus.
