Do you dudes recognize any of these mics?
http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/msg/2910765316.htmlDude says that there are no markings or branding on them as you can read, but can you guys recognize them as anything?

Re: Do you dudes recognize any of these mics?
I realize it is likely they are just POS rando mics, but I figured it would be worth asking. Atleast about the dealies on the left.

Re: Do you dudes recognize any of these mics?
They all look vaguely Nady-esque to me, but not exactly like any model i know off the top of my head.
I wonder if the ones on the left might be ribbons. They have a certain RSM-whatever look to them.

i didn't recognize any of 'em-- and scanned coutant for 'em, to no avail-- so they're none of the usual suspects.

Re: Do you dudes recognize any of these mics?
If i had the money lying around, i would probably be inclined just to get them, if only to check out the funky ones on the left closer. $16-ish a mic is not a bad deal even if they do wind up being kind of shitty. I am vaguely of a mind that one can never have too many microphones.

Re: Do you dudes recognize any of these mics?
I think I might check it out this week, depending on if I can get myself motivated enough to do something that might end in complete failure.

Re: Do you dudes recognize any of these mics?
The one on the right (the silver thing that looks like a broken 57) is an AKG D1200. Still searching on the other three. (Well, two really.)

Re: Do you dudes recognize any of these mics?
The pair are AKG D200s. They have two separate elements, one for highs, one for lows. The 58 looking thing I'm not sure; probably another older AKG. For sixty-five bucks? Why the hell not?

Re: Do you dudes recognize any of these mics?
Obviously without markings I can't say what revision it is, but: http://www.coutant.org/akgd200e/EDIT: you beat me to it. I did see a little blurb in a Gearslutz post looking up the other 57-looking one that it was "AKG's answer to the 57, but better"

Re: Do you dudes recognize any of these mics?
Ha, I think I might just pick up the whole bundle then for the fuck of it? I might have find something interesting for snare and tom micing. I dig the SM57 snare sound, so maybe that similar doodad would be interesting. But I mainly am excited about these odd two-way transducer dealies. I think they could make interesting spot mics for toms, which I don't have.

Re: Do you dudes recognize any of these mics?
Even that little clip is fairly full sounding with the old dood talking into the microphone.

Re: Do you dudes recognize any of these mics?
Why not? Sixty-five bucks. If they suck, you could flip them. Four potentially cool old mics for $16.25 a piece. Even if the other one is just a beater vocal mic, the three AKGs are pretty far from shitty, I'd think. The pair of D200s does seem really interesting.

Re: Do you dudes recognize any of these mics?
Well, I've hit up both dudes, the one with the mics from this thread and the one with the pair of MXLs. The dude with the MXLs still has them and is selling them, will be meeting him at Dick's drive-in in Lake City this weekend to grab those. And I just hit up this guy with these hurr mics and am eagerly waiting a reply.

Re: Do you dudes recognize any of these mics?
oh wow! good eye gents!
coutants a good place to id 'em- i was thinking they were some EV summits.. and clearly didn't scan the akg section well 'nuf!
damn.. i'd jump on 'em. i bet those 200c'sd make good tom mics- but theres SOMETHING they'd be good for. i'd be inclined to give 'em a try on kick or bass as well.

Re: Do you dudes recognize any of these mics?
I am glad that I have been shown this site, it's a sweet resource to have considering I think I'm going to find myself scanning craigslist for mics seeing what it has turned up. And I am thinking the same about the 200s, it will be fun to hear them. I was hoping they'd be some odd old ribbons but it's something still quite interesting.

Re: Do you dudes recognize any of these mics?
They're a pretty unique design. AKG made a few different designs with the dual-element thing over the years, up until fairly recently. It's a bit different take on things than the usual dynamic mic. I'm betting they sound cool. And that's what, with the condensers too you'd be getting six mics for a buck fifty? Not bad at all. My first thought was old EVs or Altecs too. I'd scanned over those and Shures (also hitting up some other places via Google searches) before I started going down the list of "who else makes dynamic mics". A lot of the under-the-radar stuff turns out to be pretty cool. I was going through stuff on Ebay as well (as they pictures are immediately there next to the name) and saw a bunch of EV 635s people were asking more than a hundred bucks for, so those are clearly no longer under the radar so much. Those AKGs aren't the famous ones like the D12 or the D19, but I suspect them of not sucking. And I suspect they're worth more than sixteen and change.
