well actually I got it last week...

Just a wee little Focusrite Scarlett 2i2

I lent a friend my interface and I wanted something USB. I really wanted to buy Devs, then saw it's no longer for sale. BASTID.

anyway it's red so it better. Very nice and clear, just 2 ins but this is only for my quick recording needs and will work with my laptop. (my other inyerface is firewire)

I recorded a voice over part with my NT1A, sounds very good.

Those are , in my opinion some of the coolest looking interfaces available. I really enjoy the aesthetic of'em. :huzzah:

Yar, I was looking into a bigger brother of that one.

But right now my little guy is performing within my threshold of need, so it is sticking around. Especially since I haven't recorded shit with a mic in a long time, and am slowly moving towards DI -> Software for almost all of my tones.

very cool!

I recommended one of those to a friend who was needing a cheap decent one when his apogee duet didn't work out. how's it sounding, and how's all the software it comes with?

They are like the official Maps inyourface makers. There's at least seven of us that I know of with some flavor of Focusrite.

Jolly good show. :isay:

From Reddit today:

Quote:
I posted in another thread about how good Focusrite's customer service is. A while back I broke my Saffire Pro24 trying to "fix" it. I ended up killing the firewire chip rendering the thing useless. This was out of warranty but Focusrite only wanted £30 for the repair, and they paid for the shipping.
Now, a few days back I emailed them asking about spare parts. I broke one of the Neutrik XLR/Jack combo connectors on the front by getting a cheap jack lead stuck in it. It turns out when I finally got the lead out it had damaged the connector.
My email asked them whether they'd be able to send me a replacement daughter-board that has the two connectors on (good design choice) and how much they'd charge. Well, today I got a response saying they'd send one out for free! This is two years after my warranty expired.
Just wanted to share. If any of you guys are worried about the quality of the customer service you'll receive should a piece of gear you're looking at buying breaks down, Focusrite are the way to go.
Just my £0.02.

Solid brand is solid.

If I ever expand my set up I will get a sixteen channel a/d converter and a lunch box full of pre amps, and I'll just use my Focusrite for the other eight maps. I think you can use it in a standalone mode like that.

I only did one quick voice over recording with it, but it came out real nice. I used one of the VST's , but at the moment I cannot recall which. I'm thinking compressor. The CD on the machine I installed it it on is shite so it got some errors installing Ableton I will install it on another machine and render my review.
