Seriously, they are a cool sound. Even with high-gainers; I've liked them when I've heard them with Recs and 5150s.

Oddly my favorite was the Krank with the V30s and the SM57. For that sound anyhow. :idk:

These are dialed in and mic'ed in such a way as to sound best when you listen to both mics at once. Although, I don't really see the point of using an SM57 AND an i5, except for what he's done here, which is dual micing with the absolute purpose of killing fizz, it seems.

I mean, an I5 and a 57 on the same spot on the same speaker at the same distance sound similar enough to negate the use of both, IMO. The I5, of course, has less of the high mid "bark" of the 57, but that "bark" is what the vast majority of people use the 57 for. If it wasn't, the SM57 wouldn't be the "standard" guitar cab mic.
