Personally, i am into the idea, as i understand it. The prices are not kooky and i like the idea of basically putting shitty(compared to normal pro audio preamp type biz) sounding stompboxes into a pro recording environment.

If i was running a 500 series rack sort of jibjab, i would probably want to try a bunch of those.

I wonder if they sound cool. Or if it is more about the novelty of shoving relative lo-fi bits into a studio rig.

I concur with Chris's assessment-if I had a 500 rack, I'd probably build up a pair of these. It reminds me of a hardware version of Decapitator, which I love. The mini-1176 seems like fun times as well.

There are audio clips, but they're kinda hidden toward the bottom of the pages.

I don't trust anyone's clips of these sorts of things. That does sound like less line noise on their telephone than i get on mine though. I should probably just stop being lazy and actually build a balanced pre circuit into mine. :red:

It is definitely a tempting offer. Though I fear it'd become a gateway drug into 500 series rackery, and I think that'd be unwise.
