'S not for me, silly. 'S for a friend. She's getting a new laptop. And pretty much just needs a way to get a couple mics and synths into the 'puter. A decent 2-channel interface? One of those compact mixer deals with a couple pres and a couple line ins and a USB out?

I'm almost tempted to recommend a Novation Xio as it'll double as a softsynth controller, has a cool synth onboard and functions as an interface. Only one line/one mic in, though, so not so great for tracking an acoustic and vocal at once. Advice?

I'll tell you I am mightily impressed with my little Pre-sonus Firebox. Twas teh cheaps and actually will do 6 ins. Firewire ok?
