Trufact. The sounds on that one, and in particular, on Fly On The Wall, from Down, are 98% my main bass sound inspiration. The first time i heard it, i could only say: YES.

Actually, i had way better luck than i should have, getting a fairly Wm. Sims-y sound out of a mic'ed Crate G-212. We used to use that for all of my various heavy bands' recoardings back in the oldendays. I actually kind of love the "clean" channel on that thing. Gain dimed, it has a neat light breakup sound.

Use to think that Kenose was the best thing they put out, but lately I've been leaning more to this beast. So good.

I would definitely say that i like that one the most. Which is a little odd because i generally do not heartily endorse 22+ minute songs. But IMO, that really doesn't play/feel like one at all.

I'm currently addicted to any kind of psychedelic rock.

The guys at the studio I went to today (see other thread) gave me the "japanese version" of their album. The Enid - Journeys End. Kinda like Pink Floyd but with loads of orchestra bits and the occasional divebombed harmonic. Not really my thing but at least it's something different.

Also listening to Afroman's The Good Times again. Love this album

Not great, but a huge improvement over their old sound (complete shit), if they progress even more on this next record they could be pretty goddamn good slam, IMO.

Still love this record. Saw them on this tour in a shitty little club outside of Cleveland that was pretty much a Quonset Hut with a bar and a stage. There were like 50 people there, maybe at best.

Amazing show.

Seeing Hellhammer at the bar was kinda creepy, knowing the Mayhem story. Kovenant opened. And honestly, Kovenant to Covenant as far as industrialrawk is concerned, generally speaking, if only because Animatronic is a sweet record.

I seriously urge anyone who hasn't heard it to do so.

Swear to god, every member of this band is a virtuoso within their field of expertise.

Rick Wakeman? Bossnigga keyboardist, amazingly tasteful playing.
Chris Squire? Lays down the groove while remaining very melodic and brings another musical dimension every time.
Bill Bruford? Unique, his use of oddly placed snare hits accentuating an alternate rhythm from the rest of the band bring new angles to the band's ideas I don't think anyone else could think of. I think his work with Yes (particularly on this album) shines brighter than his work with KC.
Steve Howe? Amazingly versatile and tasteful guitar playing. The man creates his own bastardized blend of jazzrock, blues, rock, reggae (occasionally) and atmospheric sounds, and it's fucking brilliant.
Jon Anderson? IMO, he's on the same level as Freddie Mercury. His voice doesn't even hold a torch to Freddie's in terms of power and dynamics, but nobody on earth can, but he makes up for that with great, innovative melodies that perfectly compliment what's going on instrumentally.
