Xaviere haz arrived
OK my Xaviere XV-820 arrived yesterday, I got it on the blem rack for 20%off (ended up around 119.00) it's a tele type plays nice, I will have to file the frret ends, but that's no biggie I had to do that to my Fender Am Deluxe as well, I'm picky about fret ends. Looks like this: I put it on the postal scale here it's 7lbs 11oz. It comes with GFS pups, but I'm keeping it at work mostly to have something to play during lunch, so not sure when I will get it home to try it with an amp.

That is lovely, and IMO, very close to the ideal weight for a tele. Less than 8lbs is awesome, and above 7.25lb means that the neck won't pull it down all the time. The last garbagecaster i built is right about that, and it feels perfect to me. Pretty sweet!

Re: Xaviere haz arrived
yes 3 peice poplar, although I can't find the seams.
I like it a lot, could use a bit of a setup and I'm not a huge fan of the chink vintage tint on the neck, reminds me of the SX necks, with that yellowy look, but hey $119...

Re: Xaviere haz arrived
I'm weird about my maple necks. I love my tele deluxe neck, and love the mim tele, but my am deluxe strat... hmmm it's one piece maple, and there's just something.. it looks plastic, although it feels and plays great. but those orangey necks...

Re: Xaviere haz arrived
I too am a fan of finished maple necks. I like the smoothness of them.
However.
My last Xav tele had a completely unfinished raw wood maple neck that I though I would hate. I actually liked it a lot as well.
