Again... one of the best albums ever written to listen to during the winter... it has a cold foreboding sound, and winter is cold and foreboding.

It really is, and does. It fits this time of year so well. Deliverance does as well, re: Opeth.

Actually, all Opeth does. They are not summer music. But those two and Blackwater Park sound like winter, even more than the rest.

Winter to me sounds like Opeth, Isis, Sigur Ros, Mogwai, Dresden Dolls, The Cure and Sisters Of Mercy's Floodland, and has sounded like those records for years.

Winter totally has a pattern for me, at least in that it's listening to depressing atmospheric whatnot, loving how my band/band is going even if/though it's nowhere and having miserable half-coherent 3 AM conversations with Ms. V. There's history here.

I've found that if I listen to Opeth in the summer, it depresses me. But in the winter, it makes me considerably less depressed... happy, even.

Winter, for me, sounds like Deliverance and Damnation. I spend lots of the winter writing sad pretty music and digging through snow to find the door handle on my truck, then not actually going anywhere in it. It's strange but true...

I coulda sworn nobody else liked Audioslave. I fucking love that first album apart from a couple of slow songs.

As do I. Last good thing with Chris Cornell on it. Actually, I like the mellower stuff too. I Am The Highway is groovy. Spiffy tones on that record as well. That first record is quite a decent slab of rawk.

Also, Mr. Sarcasm: do you have the Sisters reissues that came out a couple years back? For once, not a hack loudermaking distortoblasting remastering job. FALAA sounds sooooo much cleaner; the mix is from the original vinyl version, not the '90s US CD release. Also, it has all the B-Sides. On The Wire and Poison Door and Long Train are    if you're not familiar. As good as any of the regular album tracks. I like having them in one place versus scattered about dodgy ripped-from-vinyl copies. The extended version of Never Land on Floodland and the alternate mix of When You Don't See Me (more synths!) on Vision Thing are excellent.
