Re: Is there a way to take everything from my computer
I am sure that tor knows some program for that type of backup.
Myself, i would probably just do it copy/pastey. I have something like 600GB on this laptop though, it would take a fucking decent stretch of time, no matter how i did it.
In any case, i generally like to copy rather than move though. With really large quantities being moved around, data seems to be much more likely to get corrupted than just doing small transfer shit. Especially if you have any really big single files, like DVD ISOs or whatnot.
P.S. How are you bored? What happened to your chicken picken vid?

Re: Is there a way to take everything from my computer
I guess I can just copy paste the important stuff. I am bored. Just waiting for my buddy to get here to lay some vocals down, then off to play Bball. Ill upload the chicken pickin video tonight. Take a pic of the blizzard, then consider moving to cali. Its so nice out that we were able to go surfin 2 days ago.

Too dark now, but if we get as much snow as they say we are going to, i will take a picture tomorrow. Shoveling i don't mind so much, but fucking christ, keeping enough heating oil in the tank to keep the house warm(like, so the pipes don't fucking freeze), suuuuucks.

Re: Is there a way to take everything from my computer
well you can take an image of teh drive using ghost or acronis then it will copy everything. I use those when I'm going to be doing somethi9ng major to a computer so I can either image it back or pull files from the image if I need them.
also, blizzard like a motherfucker here too...

Re: Is there a way to take everything from my computer
My older sister in NYC was getting crazy thunder snow earlier. Did you get any of that where you are at? She said it was crazy: proper lightning, thunder, and through it all, really heavy snowfall.

Re: Is there a way to take everything from my computer
I didn't hear or see any of that, but twas crazy blizzardry here. I have seen snow lighting once. Was fucking awesome. I am off work this week, using vacation time to spend it working on musics and playing with my kids. Don't you know they closed my work today, so I miss the free day off.

Tor, all I did was drag "local disc C " to my hard drive. That should do it , right?

IIRC, there is a brand of external hdd with a button that will backup your whole hdd on it.
Maxtor OneTouch if memory serves, if they are still in production.

I think there is some way you can take an entire image "snapshot" of your whole system, makes it an iso file. I have no idea how though.

Re: Is there a way to take everything from my computer
Todge that's what ghost or acronis will do, yeah mike you should be good, it won't copy files in use,. but you are more worried about data files which would not be in use anyway

Re: Is there a way to take everything from my computer
No, I just want to copy the important stuff, like reaper files, documents, pics, mp3 files , etc... Because Im taking my comp into the shop, with the possibility of getting a new comp as well.
