I was approached for a tentative cover band gig at a local bar. I was a little anxious because I suck and didn't want to butcher other people's songs as I do my own. Now I am hoping I don't show up and find these guys ...

maybe I should join a cover band for some quick cash.

That is my reasoning.

I've seen some of the cover bands around here. Some kick a lot of ass. Others ... er ... well ...

It was very kind of that music store to donate those instruments though.

hate to say coverbands just make money. I'm now just a whore and know it. I should just go down to the train station and give tug jobs for $10/each.

a few pluses, it's easy money, it can be fun watching/getting hammered at shows, makes you learn shit you normally wouldn't do, you can actualy grow as a musician.

Playing in a cover band is fun for a while. It's the only way to get consistent (and paying) gigs round here - nobody likes originals There are so many crap coverbands where the members all think they're rock gods though, it's so stupid
