MIM Fenders are sexy ass basses. Ibanez also makes a few handy dandy basses for about that range (The SRs).

And yes, PJs (what I haz) are superior to all else. Though J basses' sexyness and pure raunch is not to be ignored. However, I am a huge fan of P tones and J bridge tones, so a PJ is teh bast for me.

There is an older line of Fender MIM PJ Deluxe basses that are off the motherfuckin' chain if you can find one (and they usually go for a damn good price).

Being that i am a hobo, i would probably pick up an SX PJ for like $100 or whatever they go for. Even with the buttnasty headstock they put on all their guitars and basses these days, that is still a pretty solid bass for shortcash. I am actually a really big fan of the ghettocheep J Bass i got from them a ways back.

I do wish i had picked up a P Bass either instead, or as well, as it though. :idk:

I got literally one of the last PJ basses with the non-silly headstock.

One of my favorite basses I have owned after a quick setup. It could use some new pups, but the ones it has are pretty goddamn decent. Definitely in no hurry to swap them out.

I've had 3 SX basses, one J fretless, one P fretless and one P fretted. They were all decent, and the I did put Quarter lb'ers in the P but other than that they were excellent basses.

A P/J is a sound investment, methinks. I wouldn't mind having one for a bit of extra gürth to my bass tones. Much like the Telecaster, the bridge pickup of the Jazz bass is what makes it. Seeing as a normal P only has the one, the comparison to the neck pickup of a Strat isn't really valid.

You and chris.

I just place my offsets' bodies further from the map if I am coping a lean with them. That usually negates any tendencies for the guitars to fall.

But, guitar stands.

Guitar stands make your guitar stand.

The best place to sit an offset body guitar is in a wheelchair.
