Next Saturday I have a band gig and acoustic gig same night, tor will be driving like a maniac from one to the other

I shall be gigging with ye olde cover band some time in the next few weeks. Need to learn some new songs for that actually And get my map sorted, the presence knob has started getting scratchy as well as the fx loop mix one now I know I asked before but I didn't make a note of the advice and I can't find the thread.. when you spray contact cleaner into a pot do you generally just spray on the back of the pot or down the shaft to try and get it in that way? Shit, I ised some Shelving wood. Nothing special, and for the corners I did nothing special but use glue, screws and inside the corner I put a small piece of wood to keep it square and give me more to grip on to with the screws. Kinda like this but obviously much smaller box

Cam, about 2 years ago, my buddy had a huge ass fucking party. 500 + kids from all different counties. more than 8 fights broke out, stupid shit like that. We were microwaving bananas, smoking shit load of weed. Next morning, for the clean up, we found a brand new roar, burb, and an ounce of weed. Can you say jack pot?

My drummer is not content with his recorded sounds. He actually asked the other night for me to replace his parts with SD2. I want to continue as planned for the next Garda single, One Of Us (I don't think this has ever even been demo-ed save for live rehearsal room recordings, and never posted! It's our most popular live song. Everyone loves this, all the pretty ladies in black and things that look like ladies dance to it. Sorta a Muse-meets-Joy Division thing. In drop D; I have more parts in drop D in that band than in any metal band I've ever been in!) tracking at GCR Studio A live-ish and cutting overdubs and doing the mix myself versus the other way 'round.

Some test mixes on previous releases with SD2 drums will be forthcoming as projects.

Apparently we are opening for a band called Sister Sin, a national that apparently sounds like a female-fronted Mötley Crüe. This is what I've been told. I like this regular gigging thing.

Too dark/murky/boomy. His comments were about the mixes, but I quickly gathered it's the kick/snare specifically as there's plenty of top end action going on. The drum sounds I don't think sound "local"- we all know that sound, or those sounds- either totally dead/shitty or obviously the stock kit in EZDrummer with nothing done to it.

Granted, if you're recording a low-tuned kit with an unmuffled wide-open 24" kick and an 8.5" deep snare and Zildjian A Customs in an enormous cavern of a room that will impart a certain sound on the recordings you can't get rid of. You're committed to Led Zeppelin there, and some guys would kill a man, or at least shank a bitch for that sound.

Marilyn Manson's Mechanical Animals (I confess, I like that record) was on between bands last night and I commented to Chris from my band re: the drum machine snare all over that record, how '80s and bassy that thing is. And it fits and it works.
