My awake/asleep schedule is pretty fucked up right now, from trying to be 'normal' like the rest of my visitors. I am on twice as much coffee, and i still feel sleepy as fuck. Partially, i think due to trying to drop back on the coffee a little at the moment. If it is going to be like this, i think i might just say fuck it and huff some more of the shit. I.e. just deal with the return to Decent People Levels of caffeine some later date... There is really no reason i can think of to sleep in the summer time anyhow.

Well, i have made it through the first wave anyhow. Now that the four-year-old and his support team have returned to IL, it is just my dad left and camp opening to do.

Also, i have been having young punk flashbacks as i just finished doing some brake repairs on the subaru. Repairing brake lines has always sketched me out. And i really fucking hate working under cars on jackstands in the driveway. The last time i did this sort of car repair shit i was like 23 years old. Just the smell of Brake-Kleen sets off all kind of memory/brain shit for me. The last time i did this i was still in "imma drive across the US and explore the place" mode.

I kind of miss that more optimistic state of mind.

ahh memories of working under jack stands... one of my fondest was replace a complete exhaust system on a 71 Olds with my roommate i college, it rained like a motherfucker the entire second day during the install, the driveway was sloped down and I specifically remember a river running down my collar and out the bottom of my shirt into my pants... it sucked monkey balls.

On a lighter note, I got the part of Izzy in the GnR tribute, should be fun, the guys are real nice. Also, can you say endorsement..... they have a D'Addario endorsement, not a full endorsement, but everything at cost, which is fucking great since I use D'Addario strings already, also get planet waves shit and the drummer gets Evans drum heads.

These guys seems to do pretty well. They use wigs and props to look like GnR, although the singer does have the hair. I will pretty much fit Izzy's look pretty easily, I may darken my hair, but it's not necessary, with beret sunglasses and all....

I want free cables!

My AC30 took the hits. There's a bigass gouge in the faceplate- seriously, the metal has more than a slight ding in it!- the on/off switch we had to turn on with pliers, and the volume knob for the Top Boost channel and the Treble knob got sheared off at the base. Thing was in my bassist's truck for two days, that's it.

Thankfully, it functions fine, and I gigged with it anyhow leaving the settings as-is. Real, real fukkin' loud. We were on... actually the largest stage Garda has played. Needed my backup 20-footer to reach the amp from my pedalboard. Stage and sound was great. So shit was cool. I don't want to gig that amp anymore anyhow given it's reliability issues; I emailed my guitarist from my metal band re: doing the necessary work as he's an EE and makes some sort of sensor for a living. He fixes shit up nicely.

Garda is done gigging for the time being. We go to the Goo Goo Dolls' studio on the 24th to slam through mostly the drums for shit youse guyse never heard. We make the record and come back With A Violence.
