We got a crowd. We wound up booked with a couple jam bands and a fairly mellow indie rock band. We come onstage, flood of gothpersons in zombie costumes start dancing in front of us from out of fucking nowhere and leave after our set. We, of everyone, got paid. I knew a whopping five people in the audience. Bunch of persons of African ancestry dancing to us too, which I can only assume is because we've got the funk. Everyone else seriously had like a couple patchouli-scented persons watching them and anyone else there was at the bar. I feel bad; one of the bands came all the way from Ohio to play to no one. Guitars and synths barely audible out front or onstage, was told repeatedly after by several people "you have a really nice voice" or equivalent. The way things have been working it's me and Chris splitting the vocals roughly 50/50 lately. There's one song where I'm using the low octave of my range all growly Fields Of The Nephilim-style that drew a few comments of the nature. Bitches Don't Know I can hit a low D.

I know I played like shit 'cause I couldn't hear, and I don't care. Neither could anyone else, it went over well, all that matters.

Also: at least the vocals were audible. A venue I frequent always buries the fucking vocals.

Fireworks really are boring in comparison to a shotgun-shell-packed shoot out.
