I actually started the Alexisonfire thing, because they have a song that really does sound like them, and I felt like being a dick because they were being dicks. But now that shit got out of hand and people called them it to their faces, someone spat in their merch, all sorts of shit, because they don't want to work by the usual Toronto metal scene rules. And now there's like some sort of mini drama, geez. Ah well. I feel bad for the dude and wish everyone would be nice. I Facebooked him an apology.

Man, this is just the season for riots i guess. I suppose the US is likely due for some also. They appear to be making the rounds.

On the upside, Canada is probably a good destination. With any luck they have quenched most of their riot thirst on the (awesomely ridiculous) Vancouver Hockey Uprising of late.

I heard some people are indeed trying to organize a riot/demonstration on Oct 6 in Freedom Plaza, Washington DC.

I would expect the popo and national guard to rock the bejeezus out of anybody trying to pull shit in that town, but who knows.

It strikes me as a rather imprudent idea.

I think "demonstration" and I think either a few dozen ineffectual neo-hippies engaged in some self-congratulatory gathering that no one else, least of all the people they're protesting against, is paying attention to , or a bunch of Angry White Men pushing for THEOCRACY NOW! , plundering the planet (for Jesus), and scoring an "own goal" in the class war because they're pathologically incapable of realizing they're just so many white niggers to their corporate Massa's.

They're rioting in my town now - dangerously close to where my band room is. If anything happens to my shit one of you mother fuckers id mailing me a gun and I'm gonna shoot up a JJB sports.

Having taken graphic design courses from computer-illiterate professors I would tend to agree. Mostly. (I know a few grad student types who teach and are ubertechgeeky, but they're their own sort of thing.)
