In other news, i returned from NYC with about twenty-two pounds of dried legumes and fancyrices. My sister mayhap is concerned that i might not make it through the winter without such provisions?

Whatever, i am excite to make delicious soups of it all, and have begun the soaking for the first batch.

Their place of origin, Kalustyans, is definitely one of my most favoritest stores in NYC. It is like a glorious dried foodgoods and spiceplace, with random shit like all kinds of strange and awesome honeys and like fifty types of tahini, and really, just about 90% of what i find delicious for foodstuffs.

Kinda what I'm thinking. Even if the pay is nil, doesn't matter, I am taken care of for a good while and anything I'd get would be cash-in-hand. The idea has been tossed around a couple times (with the engineer I'd be assisting) but I just didn't have the time. I have the ins plural, now I have the time. We'll see how this goes, I guess.

Also, I'll be in NYC or thereabouts in the immediate future. I'm pissed I'll miss the AES con- I even have a pass!- but I'll be in the neighborhood next weekend into November.

Yo, i will actually also be passing back through there prolly next weekend, but like this last trip, i will be rolling with my fams, and so i don't know if i will actually be able to do anything but drive through. (My moms is visiting on a shorttrip, and we will be heading through NY and onto PA, to attend what should be a pretty awesome halloween/witch-themed birthday party for my grandmother. Who actually requested the event and theme. As far as i can tell, everyone is going to be dressed as witches?)

At some point a group of us are going to need to work a mapstogether though. NY is sortakinda almost central(in a practical logistics sort of fashion) for the eastcoasters amongst us? That town may well be the spot.

And the west coaster can just pile into back of Meik's pickup truck and we're good to go!

Learning some more ETID riffage (currently Wanderlust). This shit isn't that complicated but it's hard to make it sound as effortless yet powerful as they do. The slight changes in the riffs throughout the song catch me out as well. Good rhythm guitar werkz
