Just had a life-changing steak.

Pretty sure Gf's mom overheard us having sex and just sat there and listened for at least an hour.

week off for me. not doing much other than practicing, teaching my daughter piano and working on her singing. oh, and I got my new JetCity amo shipped to work instead of home... I'm not going there to pick it up.

My friends have been helping me out with my... issues. I am being well looked-after by some very wonderful people. I do feel somewhat healthier at the moment, physically, as well; I beat my wretched carcass down pretty hard. My psych nurse friend has been an amazing help. It is, after all, her job to repair broken things such as me.

In band news, we have a ton of stuff you've not heard, some of which has been played live regularly and some of which is new. We've been in writing mode and have something pretty killer from last night we wrote, essentially, in one rehearsal, nailed down the structure and changes. We have been turning towards minimalism, I've found, versus the dense, heavily layered things; the last one- which will be debuted at the next show; we adore it, is a very very stripped-down thing, bass-and-drum driven, very... Clash-meets-Sisters Of Mercy with a modern edge, the snakey intertwining guitars, live electronic drums...

...and I'm an ass, I wanted to post it up but I forgot my hard drive. I missed the last bus so I just crashed at the studio last night. Eh, I'll be down there later.

Also, I have been playing a lot of acoustic jazz, fingerpicking stuff and slide guitar lately. Alas my chops for heavy stuff have diminished from lack of maintenance.

I have to go to a holiday/new years party tonight at my bosses house.

Trying to decide on just how drunk I should try to get. As far as I know, there's only going to be beer so I might bring a soda bottle of rum and coke.

After smoking a couple bowls driving home from work I decided to eat medical marijuana cotton candy (a whole tub) and what is called a monkey ball. It's super potent brownie covered in chocolate with a little candy sucker sticker sticking out of it. Got this along with some other goodies I ate last night. The recommended dosage on the cotton candy is a quarter of a tub and they warned us about the monkey balls being their most powerful item. 20 or so minutes ago eating it all seemed like a great idea. Still kinda does.


Anyways, I think I'm about to die.

I should know how things go in about.. 15 or so minutes. I do not think I shall be vomiting tonight, last night did pretty well for myself as well but this was only my second time getting high today. So there's a pretty good chance I shall fucker myself up as my body is off guard. By the end of a night I really can't get high anymore. It's just piling onto the swamp I have created in my brain, but I don't get any of the fun "high" effects.

Quoth my housemate regarding the past year, especially considering the circumstances of our friends: "2011 sucks off badgers in a back alley in Shanghai".

I know how you feel, with the other light drug. As compared to the hard drugs; it's kind of a wonder we didn't wind up there. Well, not really, perhaps; those are different effects. And I take no issue with stuff, but they are party supplies, y'know? As psych meds they're not great. They'll work- for a while- but at the end of it... For me, it'll still dull the anxiety a bit, it actually exacerbates the depression now versus producing any euphoria. I'll just turn into a weepy wreck, and most of the noise in my head is still there.

Now, I couldn't get drunk- like, what being drunk is supposed to feel like- if I tried. The psychoactive effects are simply not there. The really frightening part, for me, is that I'd probably die before I got sick. Now, I was never a pot smoker- I don't even like the smell of the stuff- so I wouldn't know the effects, but I do know it's the safest of all controlled substances (legalize that stuff; I want nothing to do with it but really); the amount one would have to consume to OD on the stuff is like, physically impossible... Whereas I could kill myself by accident and write you a thesis paper doing it.

I had a rant. It was deleted; I couldn't focus to finish the thought decently as I've been up since like 5-6 AM. It was moderately political; the social stigma of mental illness, access to health care and self-medication. It was a good one.

My 2011 was bat-shit crazy, but not necessarily in a bad way.

I DID get married and graduate from college, but the rest of it was kind of shitty.
