That record rules. Seriously. As fine a comeback as could be desired. Finer, perhaps. Enjoy. :isay:

I once did a similar thing with sounds stolen from video games. I wish i had known of EBN back then. They are fucking swell.

Now that i have heard the rest of it, that Swans record is indeed one of the finer ones they have produced. Quite pleasant and consistent with some fucking fantastic bits on it. :isay:

Approved. :tu: It's a good slab o' noise. It's my kind of progressive rock. It's a coherent effort, and well written. No Jarboe, alas.

I was pimping this to my bassist, who apparently is totally unaware of them? Bizarre, given his tastes in stuff.

Being a fanboi and listening to rarities:

Demo, probably a 4-track deal:

Covering fucking Motorhead:

From the Sisterhood side project EP:

A terrible sounding camera-phone video, but the lady with the flower hairthing is my best friend, caught accidentally:

(Oh, and the sound is always bassy shit at that venue. The back of my head appears briefly as well, as well as our other friend we went with)

I put this on while my girlfriend was talking to me and it was all, 'I love you, I love you.'

Then she got angry, and at that moment someone smashed a piano. :panic:

'S really a cool record. One might expect it to get really heavy at any moment but it never does, in the metal sense. Not, I think, a bad starting point for someone not familiar with the band either. It conveys what they're on about decently well.

I have repaired it for ye. What you need is the actual address of the video like from the address bar, as in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmjMFPSLXI4, which is a little different than some other sites'/forums' embed codes.

aha! thanks chris!

I really dig the Wye Oak-- I recently saw them do a live performance (a vid.. not really live) of a Kinks song, and they just slayed it. So good-- and locals, no less.

Would be the best sounding record of the decade if the mastering engineer didn't clip the fuck out of it.

Also: Testament riffs. :rawk:

Probably a bit fusion-y for my taste. And it never quite gets rocking like Crimson proper outside of the first track (and not in the riff-heavy way); they stay on the soundscape-y side of things. But it's very obviously Crimson-y.

Oh, and it does have Tony Levin and Gavin Harrison (I think he friggin' rules) when they need a rhythm section.

Overall, not as dynamic as proper Crimson. Vocals super-compressed and 'verb'd out. :snax: -o-phone all over everything; kinda hangs at slow tempos. Still obviously identifiable for what it is. Sounds like the mellow parts of a Crimson record.

A change-up from my current diet of classical, old-school jazz and singer-songwriters.
