I am on a big Music Library kick lately. This particular one is cool, basically like early 70s fuzzpsych/biker movie sorts of sounds, all instrumental.

Red Medicine is the best Fugazi ever did IMO. I love the mix of sounds on that record. Also, Guy Picciotto is definitely one of my "frontman heroes". That dude is fantastic.

Now listening to Derek Roddy's Serpents Rise tracks.

Kind of boring stuff, IMO. :idk:

It feels like he is trying to show his 'well-roundedness' by cramming all kinds of random styles in, but really, in the end, it feels less like a cohesive album, and more like a heavy studio drummer's portfolio/resume.

I am not sure what i was expecting.

Also, his blasting is fast, but strikes me as kind of dull, as utilized on these tracks?

Their earlier records were good (both TV On the Radio, and Animal Collective) but i wasn't as into either of those ones.

Anyhoo, my library/lounge kick continues.
