Yay, I get to learn how to use Final Cut. :? I have no burning desire to do so, but I need to make something that resembles a proper rockvideo and no one else is going to, so... :ugeek:
Final Cut is not super difficult to learn at all. Powerful software but pretty user friendly.

Snaxo, FCP is pretty easy and intuitive. Just look up 3 point editing and you're good to go. And learn how to colour grade a bit

You can also try a ghettocapo with a pencil and some burly broccoli-style rubberbands. Some guitars that works well enough, on others it is hard to get enough pressure to make a clean "open" string sound.
Ha! That is pretty clever.. But I think I might just go ahead and buy a capo today!

Final Cut was very simple to work with- it's not dissimilar to a DAW, at least for basic editing tasks. Certainly a hell of a lot easier than trying to fudge something together in iMovie.

I've long felt the same way. It's a machine, and nothing about the tone is imparted by the player. It's much harder to assert any sort of individuality on a piano than it is a stringed or wind instrument, where any two players of comparable chops given the exact same instrument will sound different. You have a lot less to work with on a piano; dynamics and timing, that's it.
