I've not even cracked that fucker open yet once again. Today was basically a repeat of yesterday, with a brief nap and without bodily harm. I'd really like to not be working. I am really kinda bummed I haven't tracked anything with Landon yet, he is hella busy with school and work and significant other. He's also been sick, so that fucks with things. And now I've got steady work too? Not cool, man. The problem is not so much the hours, if I get home like I do on earlier days I'm home at 5 at the earliest. I ran drums till 9 so there's no issue there, it's just I am so goddamned tired from work. Little ambition to record much of anything, I just want to be lazy and smoke weed. I did play a bit of guitar and wrote a cool riff, but practicing for but 15 minutes is not going to get my lacking chops where I want them to be. Supposedly this job will be running for 5 weeks, then a week after that I go back to Alaska for a month at the most. Not fucking cool, man.

At least you've got paying work, man. Sorry 'bout the lack of bandaction- I get it. Replace "school" with "career"- I didn't give a fuck when I had one, but they never asked me to work weekends ever or do anything but roll in 9-5, and I could count on my fingers the times I stayed late in a decade.



Random referral from a promoter for a multi-instrumentalist type for the Snaxoband. Much younger than the two of us in on it so far, but that is to be expected- and to be frank, what I want. I can only find so many Jaded Old Fucks™ willing to throw it all away, who've been there, done that and decided screw it, let's live it, and still can without anything tying them down. Seems quality at first; we'll see where it leads.

On the band fronts - Pop/cover band is minus one guitarist so now I am the only mid instrument, guitarring and keyboarding. We use backing tracks/sequences on a bunch of the dancey dancey tunes and using fuzzy guitar over dance tunes seems to work, (thx Chris for the fuzz), we are also replacing our female vocalist. Our current is amazing but at the age the tick tock of the clock is here and she wants a kid. I told her she could take one or both of mine. The new girls took a while to find but she's very young, very hot. In the environment we play is probably more important that she's hot, than if she can sing. We have talked to our agency about it, they acknowledge that the club owner that book, never (well almost never) listen to videos of the bands, they look at the promo shots and if the female singer is hot, the band is hired. Terrible.

On the GnR front, we only did 11 shows last year, dance band did some thing like 60-75, but I think we only did 2 shows here on LI, 3 in the NY metro area (ugh Jersey was the worst gig ever) everything else was travel gigs. We have changed our ideas about gigging. We are just not going to do a shit local gig. We play outside of NY we get good pay, meals, lodging and a nice crowd. On that note, we are playing in Reading Pennsylvania this Saturn's Days with a sub drummer. Ours got shoulder surgery. Sub was really good.

Okay Joey, let's, for the sake of experimentation, pretend I'm the club owner. Just to make sure it will go down as planned.

Close mic + distant mic on guitar. If you're really ambitious, you could jigger up a stereo room thing, like mid/side for the distant part. Curious to hear how that would work in that room.

I'm definitely more productive when I'm up at normal human hours. I'm not sure why this is. I've always been a night person, but I'm a lot more inclined to actually Get Stuff Done when I'm up during the day.

Currently, getting the synths and programming done for my no-longer-so-solo record. I have nothing else of any importance to take care of today, so I can just do that. I am totally okay with this.
