That looks great. I like a variety of pizza. I will go thin & crispy crust some days, Sicilian others. I can only eat 1 slice of Sicilian though, so doughy.

Frankly it could be better. It is essentially unbalanced, so noisy in a definite Wrong Way. Around these parts this means it brings in almost as much Rush Limbaugh talk radio station as it does telephone sounding stuff you actually mean to record.

There is probably a better way to wire it up really, but i am going to guess that it will require some circuitry or a transformer, or both, to balance the thing so it works as it properly should.

My brain is wondering: if I provided you with the funds could you make such a thing happen?

I can consume two, but I will regret it later. I used to be able to consume shocking quantities of thick pizza, but I think somewhere around 30 I stopped being able to consume sheer mass friggin' quantities of anything all at once. Two slices of regular pizza is about my limit now. I'd have to dial back the clock a few years and a few houses to really properly indulge in anything.

That's exactly what I want to record.

I am reminded of micing up my Mesas at my former residence (the wiring was likely as old as the house; Victoria was Queen at the time), where they'd pick up the country station and the hiphop station at the same time.



Relevant to my interests. I find the old ham radio mic to be too hi-fi, if lacking in top end, and too bassy for the porpoises I use it for. I wind up plugging it into an overdrive pedal or f-ing with it on the way in somehow more often than not. I should really try it as an instrument mic.

I should probably note, that the microphone is not actually pink(it is Standard Telephone Tan), but that ridiculous orange 'muppet skin' blanket played havoc on my not-very-good-at-all camera's white balancing ability.

I feel like i have seen pink ones before, but who knows where.

I do wonder if the plastic could be dyed. Or if spraypaints might be the only good answer to alternate phone hues.

My eyes and monitaurs tell me that's lavender? I know the oldschool telephone tan from when I was a kid and that was the color of our telephones (it is also the color of my ham radio mic), and that is a light purple to me on this end.

Concurred on telephones looking like something from the original Star Trek series.

As far as telephones-as-microphones go though, pink or lavender, considering I'd almost invariably be screaming into the thing, probably works best to get across whatever awkward and uncomfortable point I'm trying to get across there.

I can see lavender out of that pictar aslo. Especially compared to the much more Standard Bubblegum Pink of the other one i poasted.

A paler tint like that i suspect might be possible to achieve on a tan or white phone with some sort of permanent staining sort of dye. Then maybe a little satin finish clearcoat to keep it from wearing down back to tan/white too quickly where the hand holds it.
