I'm in desperate need of musical inspiration. I've been in a rut lately...both in terms of creativity and listening satisfaction.

This is me pretty much completely ignoring what I know of your musical tastes. However, I feel this might be a good thing? Just sharing things I consider to be fantastic.

I'm feeling ambitious. I want to create a sample set of my drummer's kit for writing porpoises. We're always there super-late after rehearsal anyhow.

Back from 3 days 2 night in Killington Vt, playing at a place called the Pickle Barrel. Great club. there are pics and video on FB if anyone is inclined to see. So fucking tired though. Trying to make it through work today. 5 Hour drive up there, and of course the same back. I was running on combined total of 5 hours sleep over the 72 hours and it's hitting me now even with 5 more hours of sleep last night. We don't make a hell of a lot of money after going out to dinner/breakfast and liquor spent, but it's a nice getaway. We get a band house free for the weekend also. People outside of NY really appreciate live music.

Against what by now should really be a solidly stoneset rule for me, i am currently drinking more coffee.

I do consider this to be mostly coffee's fault for being too delicious, but at the same time i certainly expect to get the worst end of this deal nevertheless.

Coffee is far too delicious for its own good. I miss it for the taste. I was talking to my roommate about this, about starting to have coffee again in small amounts so that I can, well, have coffee without feeling like I just did a pile of blow or something.

Coffee is my drug of choice, now that I am choosing not to do other drugs. It's like crack. I while I know it's not great coffee fuck I live diner coffee, in those thick little white cups.

Also, fucking Bloody Marys. Seem to be the band drink in the morning. Diner we went to Saturday has some fucking delicious Bloody Mary. Picture ensues

That description of the song is actually so accurate in a weird way. "I mean come on guys, it's not that bad sounding!" There is so much glory in it's ugliness.

And yeah, coffee is pretty goddamn excellent.

Drink all you want.

Is there any good decaf coffee that doesn't taste like shit? Because I love the taste of coffee but I don't always want the caffeine stuff that comes with it.

Oh yeah and I got a time lapse app for my phone, it's actually really good and does full frame photos you can put together in after effects or whatever to do proper time lapses. This was just the default heavily compressed 720p version. Recorded an hour in the ATR sound booth at work. You can see how little work I actually do muiltiply this by 8 and it does make for a boring day though

There's that, but finding one that's actually good? I wouldn't even know where to start.

On a totally unrelated note, I tracked a shitload of vocals today. If I go down to the 'drome before 6, bands aren't allowed to rehearse in the building, at least, not at "drummer" volume- so there's no one there except a couple photographers on floors above and the cleaning staff and whomever works downstairs anyhow. I have concrete walls and a steel door, so: vocal recording time!

Gonna be home 6AM PST tomorrow. NICE. Then I begin fucking shit up on my recording warpath.

Felt like photographing and sharing my kit after being pleased at how I could mount the 14" on the same stand as my ride.

Honestly, what the fuck @ that bottom kit. I just don't believe anybody needs that many fucking toms. Anything past three and it's probably time to GTFO of my world. Or ya know, i will berate you for being a jackass, AND CLEARLY NOBODY WANTS THAT.

Not relevant to hugeass drum kits or anything, but: Whilst rifling through the hundreds of phrases/poemthings I have written down in my computer/phone I found one that I think might be more fond of than anything I have written. Just the phrase "Starving, Not Svelte". Something I no doubt wrote down drunk as fuck and completely forgot about.

It must be nice finding writings that impress yourself.

If I find forgotten writings they are embarrassing, 99% of the time.

It also must be nice to be drunk as fuck. Maybe next Friday...

Oh trust me, the amount of shit I find embarrassing outweighs the stuff I like by a great amount. These days though, I am finding myself a bit more impressed with what comes out of me (these previous words read fantastically taken out of context) probably because I am becoming retardedly practiced at making words fuck each other and a growing understanding/intouchness with my lack of sanity. I have been writing since I was 11 or 12, which no doubt would be fucking awful to be able to look back on, and haven't stopped much save for a few extended periods. So I mean, I hope to fuck I would have got sort of decent at it.

It is odd, I am not so into drunk as fuckness anymore. Not that I don't go there every now and then, but it is usually a much more worse idea than I think it is. Not because of hangovers or whatever, but my brain does not mate well with alcohol. I become very violent when provoked and feel much less sharp than I would normally like to. Even when I am incredihigh, I maintain a pretty good control of my speech. Drunk, not so much.
