The Salteens are possibly the brightest, shiniest and happiest pop bands I can think of.

I used to dig +/- a bit, though this is all newer stuff, I can't seem to find stuff on the album I had on the tube. Don't write them off quickly though, their particular style of riffing is up your alley.










As for not such pop type things:

Thurston Moore's new band Chelsea Light Moving has some pretty good angry and not-as-angry sounds.

Ooh, i hadna hoid(or been aware of remotely) that Chealsea Light Moving thing before. Very older flavour sonicyouth sounds. I am into that a fair bit.

Yeah I gave their new album a listen at the vinyl shop the other day, it's really good stuff.

Did not hit me before, but this Dead Radical band is fucking beyond.

Also, checking out these new entries momentarily.

Snaxie: To be honest, besides the obligated I Want To Be Your Dog, I am not too familiar with the Stooges. And this song rocks pretty well. The Bauhaus might not be my thing, but I will check the other two songs here in a bit.

Devandre: Dat Preston School of Industry is cool. Not digging the + / -, but I feel this is an unfair assessment as you are referencing a different album. What's it called? I will just get the fucker.

No idea, maybe I am confusing them with someone else but there I assume "Self-Titled Long-Playing Debut Album" is the one I was thinking of because it came out around the right time.

Oh nigs you gotta listen to Mogwai. They make fantastic music, and they record it fantastically. That particular album is a good starting point, just be prepared to sit and listen for a while.

Mogwai is excellent. They record around here too, if I'm not mistaken, with Dave Fridmann, who is also excellent. I heart them a lot and used to listen to them a ton.
