Re: The Chris Thread
This is Conrad Heyer. He was born in 1749, and was a veteran of the American Revolution. This photograph was taken in 1852. He is, as far as anyone knows, the earliest-born person ever photographed.

Re: The Chris Thread
I just love that this is a real thing that modern people currently do at the highest levels of competitive sport.

Re: The Chris Thread
Absolutely, i could get behind that. They should be retroactively added to all current sports, ASAP.

Re: The Chris Thread
Hmm... In this case I vote we don't use George Carlin's definition of "sport" for once. It gives us a much greater amount of activities into which brooms can be incorporated, from basketball to fishing. Re: jousting... This gets interesting, because people do still joust. It's historical reenactment, but it's sports reenactment. Yeah, you could just replace lances with brooms, but that's no fun... So how do the brooms figure in? Unrelated:

Re: The Chris Thread
Definitely use brooms in place of shields, in jousting. Fishing would be much better with brooms. I like this. I think for sport though, fishing with a broom against a shark would be good.
