That sounds pretty fucking sweet, tor! How much commute is it to manhattan from where you are, an hour? Or are you going to be staying in NYC for the NYC months? Either way, personally i would totally take that for the work-from-home months. Actually to me that is kind of the perfect sort of mix. I have seen folks go kind of crazy doing 100% from home. It is good to have a mix.

If one of those months lines up with when I am in the LES, we should grab a beer.

Yo my techdawgs, I am looking to replace one of the two switchable opamps in my tonebeast. It would seem the X18 one somehow came loose from it's brackets was damaged bouncing around in the box whilst my friend was borrowing it.
Any suggestions on fine operational amplifiers in such a context? I am looking for a super flat, hifi sort. The one in there is the traditional API sort, and is of a more middy variety.

Bought a dozen sets of Dean Markely Blue Steels on Ebay a while back. Went to re-string one of my Telecasters as I have a gig tomorrow night.
They're corroded. All of them. All 72 of them. Factory-sealed in the little corrosion-resistant bag and everything.

Of course the venue was double booked, because venues, that's why. There was a jazz quartet playing to the dinner crowd when we arrived, and everything was delayed at least a good hour beyond the normal delays inherent in almost all rock shows.
Said jazz quartet featured a dude who played in Dave Brubeck's band for 30+ years. He's an okay alto sax player, and a shockingly passable singer at crooner ballad standards. But holy balls could he rip on flute. No, seriously. Really impressive flautists just don't make it onto my radar that often, and this guy is clearly a master.

That blows dude. I remember when I first tried them and they sounded like worn out d'addarios. Try rotosounds. Im addicted. Theyre cheap too.
I had the pleasure of this on saturday.

I also had the pleasure of that on Saturday, in London (ON).
I was feeling sick from some homemade mead a friend from Montreal brought though. Well that and the beer. I went too fast. Coulda had a lot more fun than I did.
I don't know if anyone recalls me mentioning it, but I quit Gravitational Distortion (slam band I guitar in) last summer due to some kinda shitty circumstances in the band. Last fall circumstances changed via a major lineup change, and I rejoined to captain the ol' ship once more.

Hmm... Godflesh is playing here towards the end of September. Methinks I'll have to attend that as I can actually afford to go see things as of late...
