Stop making me want to play awesome '90s genre-bending sci-fi RPG/shooters!



Fastest way to kill those guys was dual-wielding the combat shotguns. Or overload bolts from the fusion gun. They blow up though, when you knock 'em out. Bastards. They roll in up close and fire bouncing grenades or have a flamethrower so explosives are near useless unless you can get a group in the distance at which point you're still best off burning through your shotgun ammo. Though in one of the variants/open-source rebuilds the railgun is a treasured thing from afar.

Though what's shown in the picture there works too; hold down both triggers as the assault rifle is horridly inaccurate (does little damage per hit but holds a ton of rounds) and its attendant grenades are area-effect and hit pretty hard. Good on groups of things. Also a fine terror weapon against other space marines at a LAN party. The grenades were highly accurate and would carry as far as the elevation of the launcher and the height of the map would take them, so really great for smacking down your friends from across the screen,

That looks gnar. What game is that?

Marathon. (II or Infinity) And a modded version thereof judging by the display and the fact I don't recognize the map.

It's by the people who did Halo, only the Marathon trilogy is better than Halo (there are tie-ins; I do believe I posted http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Marathon_references_in_Halo on Maps I) and has much greater storyline elements. There's a big RPG aspect to it and it really really gets down in depth with the story. It was also innovative at the time for the non-linearities in Infinity, given the context. There's also quirky gameplay aspects that make it difficult. Make sure to set your key commands.
