Thanks man but I'd reserve judgment until the rats nest inside is installed haha :poop:

This is only my second build but I've spent a lot of time reading and looking at how other people do things. The Heater wiring on this is definitely much better than my first amp turned out. I'm not elevating the heaters on this so Its pretty important that I do a good job of it as there will be a fair bit of gain going on.

If I dont end up going to my friends gig tonight I will wire the pots and sockets up so if there are no cock ups I'll get this sucka built this week!

In other news - I've found a reasonably cheap PX for the jazz/crunch amp I'm thinking of building. 200mA at 350V should give me 420V after rectification and the heaters are good for 5-7A. This means rather then compromising with 5881s I can go straight in with 6L6GC's running at about 40W. I'm probably going to build this in parallel with the 20W amp I'm making for a friend, which will be my first attempt at DC heaters since the torroidal PX has a beefy 9V winding.

I totally wired up the relays last night. Tricky sumnabitches to do. I didnt want to solder direct to the pins so I used some IC sockets and removed the unwanted pins. Tonight I may well get this thing fully assembled*!

* working is a different matter.

Wired up the LED's. They're ultrabrite white ones I got from dealextreme ages ago and damn, they are bright as hell - they'll pretty much illuminate a room!

I have ultrabright LED in my Allums modded SD-1. It's so fucking bright I need to put a finger over it to view my settings. How many do you have it that? Prolly looks like a runway

Now THAT isn't what we wanted to hear. :red:

I am very lucky to have had all but the very first map i built work on the first go. Actually i got lucky on the first one too, i just forgot to ground the output jack. :red:

FX pedal builds on the other hand, oh about one out of three has needed a stern talking to with a debugimifier. :cop: :poop:

Hmm, the plate and cathode voltages look reasonable enough as can be seen here in ghettovision(tm):
